Using the late summer landscape at the Lund as our inspiration we will work in watercolour, acrylic ink and soft pastel to create strong compositions vibrant sketches and expressive paintings. These can be as figurative or abstract as you like.

There will be plenty of practical demonstrations and opportunities to experiment with different methods and materials such as working into watercolour with soft pastel. The three day course is largely based in and around our studios to allow longer time to develop paintings in the studio or to work en plein air if the weather conditions are good.

You should have some experience of drawing and painting to get the most out of this course but enthusiastic beginners are always welcome. Basic materials for this course are included in the fee but you will be required to bring your own brushes, along with any preferred additional materials you might choose.

Day 1 - Charcoal and Indian ink plus white and black

Day 2 - Adding colour sketches and scaling up. Laying down initial washes, choosing your colours (pastel over watercolour)

Day 3 - Starting the big one demo in pastel and charcoal and watercolour. Adding collage and texture

The days run from 10.00am to 4.00pm
